Karen Coates

Karen Coates, a senior fellow at Brandeis University’s Schuster Institute for Investigative Journalism, reports primarily on food, environment, health and human rights in the developing world. She also teaches journalism in emerging democracies. Her latest book, with Jerry Redfern, is Eternal Harvest: The Legacy of American Bombs in Laos. Karen was an Asia correspondent for Gourmet before the magazine closed. Her food blog is Rambling Spoon.
